What this rate covers. Every claim this desk has ever scored: 120 in total — 81 resolved macro thresholds and 39 scored 28-day signal claims. 128 macro thresholds have been registered in all, so 47 are still open; 147 signal claims are standing and none has reached its horizon yet. Of the 81 resolved macro thresholds, 31 are independent: bets on the same series whose 7-day windows overlap count once, and the grade floor counts only those. The resolved Kalshi book below is the market's record and is deliberately not pooled into this number. The pre-registered floor for publishing an ensemble probability is 50 independent resolved bets.
Scored as calls: the published probability's side of 50% against the resolved outcome. The market row is scored on the same rule over the 34 resolved bets that carried a market price, so the two rates describe the same bets. The base rate is the reference-class anchor scored the same way on every row. Brier below is the skill metric; this is the plain-language version of the same record.

Will Gold (LBMA PM fix) fall to at most 4,239.74 USD/oz by 2026-10-03?held67%—50%2026-10-03
Will Gold (LBMA PM fix) fall to at most 4,239.74 USD/oz by 2026-10-05?
outside: Gold needs only a ~0.5% dip within a week, which typical ~1% daily vol makes likely in isolation, but the strong uptrend and momentum in this reference class bias against a close at/below the threshold.; inside: Threshold is only 0.5% below the last fix amid a steady multi-day slide, and Sep 28 headlines already report spot breaking below $4,200 on rate-hike bets, so the next fixes should print under 4,239.74.; refuter: Corrected the anchoring on a naive outside-view base rate that treats 0.50% as a real move: this is a barrier-touch question over ~6 LBMA fixes with ~1%/day realized vol, so P(min touches -0.5%) ≈ 2·Φ(-0.5/√6) ≈ 0.85, only modestly shaded by gold's upward drift — the 0.42 outside view is the mis-set
held67%—50%2026-10-05
Will Gold (LBMA PM fix) fall to at most 4,028.05 USD/oz by 2026-10-06?
outside: A 2.8% drop in ~7 days is roughly a one-sigma weekly move for gold, but the persistent 2026 uptrend and momentum bias argue for less than the naive base rate.; inside: Gold just broke its 200-DMA in a sharp yield-driven selloff, and with elevated daily vol (~1.4%) a 2.8% touch over six fixes is roughly coin-flip-minus, tempered by dip-buying in a structural bull market.; refuter: The inside view at 0.41 reflects a gambler's-fallacy/mean-reversion bias — treating an extended record-high run as 'due' for a pullback — when a 2.81% decline in ~5 fixings is roughly a 1-sigma-plus move against positive momentum and a bid-up trend regime, so I weight the outside view far more heavi
held29%—50%2026-10-06
Will WTI front-month crude rise to at least 94.69 USD/bbl by 2026-10-19?
outside: A 1.5% upside move in 7 days is roughly a coin-flip-minus in normal crude vol terms, but the 0.68 base rate looks inflated relative to typical weekly threshold hit rates and the related Venezuela production market isn't informative here, so I shade toward a modest sub-even odds.; inside: Only a 1.5% move needed within a week amid strong 4-session upward momentum (+4.3%) and live geopolitical risk (Saudi attacks, Russia supply doubts); weekly crude vol (~4-5%) makes touching the threshold more likely than not, though ceasefire/oversupply headlines cap the upside.; refuter: Corrected for the outside view's anchoring on a terminal-close reading: a 1.52% barrier is only ~0.34 weekly sigma for WTI, and under the touch-anytime reading the reflection principle puts first-passage near 0.70, so the blended consensus near 0.45 understates it.
held68%—71%2026-10-19
Will the VIX index fall to at most 14.27 points by 2026-10-19?
outside: VIX at 14.84 needs only a ~4% drop to hit 14.27 within a week, which is well within normal weekly noise, but spot is already near the low end of its recent range and early-October tariff/volatility headlines leave upside risk, so slightly below the 0.66 base rate.; inside: A 0.57-point VIX decline is well within normal weekly noise in a low-vol regime with downward momentum, but 14.84 is already near the regime floor and CPI plus bank earnings this week provide upside event risk.; refuter: The consensus anchored on a near-coin-flip endpoint comparison and ignored first-passage (running-minimum) semantics — a 0.57-point drop is well under one daily sigma for VIX, and the probability of touching it at least once in five sessions is roughly double the probability of ending below it, whic

Will the 10-year Treasury yield rise to at least 5.266 % by 2026-10-19?
outside: At 5.24 the 5.266 trigger is only ~2.6bp away, well under one day's typical 10-year yield move, so a touch within seven days is likely barring a strong downward drift — consistent with the 0.79 base rate.; inside: Only ~2.6bp above spot with ~5bp daily vol and the level already traded multiple times last week, plus a strong upward-yield news backdrop, so a touch within five sessions is more likely than not.; refuter: The outside view's 0.82 comes from a continuous-barrier reflection calc that overstates a threshold resolved on a handful of discrete daily closes (Oct 12 is a bond-market holiday, leaving ~4-5 observations), while the inside view's 0.72 is unjustified anchoring toward 50% with no directional story

Will Bitcoin (BTC-USD) fall to at most 81,935 USD by 2026-10-19?
outside: BTC needs only a ~1.05% drop within a week, which in current high-volatility conditions is likely more often than not, though the base rate and short window temper this slightly below even.; inside: The threshold sits only ~1.05% below spot and inside the last week's traded range (81,676 on Oct 8), so a weekly barrier touch is highly likely given ~1.3% daily vol, with bearish ETF-outflow headlines adding a mild downward tilt.; refuter: The consensus is anchored too low because the outside view scores this as a terminal-close distribution rather than a first-passage/running-minimum barrier — a threshold just 1.05% below spot, against BTC's ~3-4% daily vol (≈8-9% weekly sigma), gets touched intraweek roughly twice as often as it get
held54%—3%2026-10-19
Will WTI front-month crude fall to at most 90.42 USD/bbl by 2026-10-20?
outside: A 1.8% drop in one week is plausible given typical crude volatility, but it requires sustained downward drift rather than noise, and the stated base rate likely reflects a longer window than the 7 days remaining.; inside: A 1.8% downside touch is well within one week's realized vol (88.28–93.74 in the last five sessions, with $90 cited as active support), though Saudi-Houthi supply risk and a bullish near-term bias partly offset the bearish Russian diesel-deal narrative.; refuter: The consensus anchors on a terminal-value framing — judging whether WTI will *end* ~1.8% lower — when 'fall to at most' resolves on the path minimum: with ~30-40% annualized crude vol, a week's σ is ~4-5%, so a 1.8% dip at some point over five daily observations is roughly a coin flip or better, not
held52%—71%2026-10-20
Will Gold front-month futures rise to at least 4,230.25 USD/oz by 2026-10-20?
outside: Needs a 0.5% gain in 5 trading days; near-symmetric odds with a slight haircut for elevated post-rally volatility and the related market pricing below the historical base rate.; inside: Needs only +0.5% in 5 trading days with gold's realized daily vol near 1%, but momentum is sideways-to-lower after the early-October peak and headlines point to a consolidation/downtrend pending a dovish Fed.; refuter: Corrected for the consensus treating this as a terminal-value coin flip when 'rise to at least' is a barrier-touch over ~5 sessions — at only 0.5% away with gold's ~1.5% daily vol and positive drift, the running maximum clears the level far more often than the closing price does.
held65%—50%2026-10-20
Will the VIX index rise to at least 15.58 points by 2026-10-20?
outside: VIX at 15.21 needs only a ~2.4% move to reach 15.58 within a week, well within normal daily noise and consistent with the ~0.65 base rate, trimmed slightly for mean-reversion drift in a calm tape.; inside: VIX needs only a 2.4% uptick over ~6 sessions — well within normal daily noise (it printed 15.41 last week), and CPI plus bank earnings give ample catalysts with vol already near a floor.; refuter: The consensus is anchored on the '2.43% away' framing as if VIX moved like an equity index, ignoring that VIX's daily sigma is ~5-7% with strong upward skew from a 15.2 near-floor level, so at least one touch of 15.58 over ~5 sessions is close to a near-certainty rather than a coin-flip-plus.
held65%—no reading2026-10-20
Will the 10-year Treasury yield rise to at least 5.266 % by 2026-10-20?
outside: A 2.6bp rise is well under one day's typical 10y yield move, so the weekly maximum clears it most of the time, matching the 0.79 base rate.; inside: Only ~2.6bp above spot with daily vol ~5bp and the level having traded above 5.266 three times in the last five sessions, so the threshold is well within a week's noise, with a mildly upward-biased rout backdrop offset by the latest energy-driven pullback.; refuter: Corrected the terminal-value anchoring in the inside view: 'rise to at least' is a barrier-touch over ~5 trading days, and a 2.6bp barrier is under 0.2 weekly sigma, so the reflection principle puts it near twice the one-sided tail rather than a coin flip.

mean Brier 0.275 vs base-rate benchmark 0.290 over 81 resolved bets, 31 of them independent (lower is better; beating the base rate is the bar that matters).
win rate: 43/81 (53%) resolved bets hit (beats the base rate on Brier); on the 31 independent bets, 21/31 — market baseline 18/34 (53%) on the 34 bets that carried a market price. A hit means the stated side of 0.5 matched the outcome; with this few resolutions the rates are a running tally, not a track record.
128 macro threshold bets have been registered in all; 81 have resolved and 47 are open. The short ledger is not a filter on this page — it is the whole ledger, and the first bet was written 2026-09-04. The other two ledgers below are where the rest of the record is.

Each build registers the leaf claims. A leaf is written only when it has no unresolved claim open and its gate passes, so a leaf never carries two overlapping claims and the ledger grows one resolution at a time. Nothing is back-filled: a claim registered today has no past. The resolved Kalshi book is the market's record and is not counted here.

Polymarket signals — 186 logged, 122 resolved Grade D · descriptiveas of 2026-10-18

Every signal the Polymarket scanner has logged since 2026-07-16. Each one names a market, our model's YES probability, the crowd's YES price and the side the signal takes. It is scored when the market resolves on Polymarket. This record is kept separate from Ledger A and is not part of the win rate above.

Hit rate: the side the signal took matched the resolution. The crowd has no side, so its row is Brier only. Lower Brier is better. Over these 122 resolutions the crowd's price scored better than our model (0.1368 against 0.1846). At the logged fill price, the signals staked 56.59 and returned -10.59 per share (-19% of stake). Strikes on one underlying that end on the same day resolve on the same price path, so the 122 signals are 76 independent events; the one-vote-per-event row weights each event once.

Why this record was missing until now. The scanner has logged signals since 2026-07-16, but the job that scored them asked Polymarket for each market without the flag that includes closed markets, so every resolved market came back empty and was counted as still open. None had been scored. The outcomes above come from Polymarket's own resolution, and each signal's logged time is earlier than its market's end.

Traded price against the realised win rate of everything that traded at that price, over the resolved book. · available_at 2026-09-06
Bubble area is the number of trades in the bucket. The expected-value asymmetry a reader can see for themselves: the cheap buckets carry most of the volume and realise below their price.

How the models did before they were live — BACKTEST Grade D · descriptiveas of 2026-09-20

This is a BACKTEST and it is not part of the live record. Nothing below is added to the win rate above, and it never will be. It answers one question — how the bet-construction rule behaved on years before this ledger existed — and it is graded D, a description of a sample, because that is all a walk-forward can be.

Walk-forward hit rate by quarter, one row per model, with the number of scored decisions printed above each bar. A hit is the side of 50%% the rule published matching the outcome. The shaded region is every quarter decided before the ledger went live and the gold rule is the first live registration.

What was replayed. templates.make_bet's threshold rule plus engine.base_rate's Laplace prior, decided weekly on a trailing 95-observation window and scored 7 days later on the same series. What was not. the three-pass LLM ensemble, which sets the published probability on a live bet whenever the proxy is up — so the curve is the mechanical part of the engine, not the published call. Pooled over 5 models the rule called 964 of 1,562 decisions correctly (62%), decided every 7 days on a trailing 95-observation window and scored 7 days later. Computed 2026-09-20.
Not replayable, and listed rather than dropped:
  • wtibrent-nw-1 — the claim is a model's interval, not a function of the series; replaying it means re-fitting the model at every past date, which is a different piece of work and is not faked here
  • crowd:* — the rule reads the 13F crowding panel as it stood at each quarter end; the panel archive on disk is sixteen days long, so there is nothing to walk
  • regime-agreement-flip — the series is this desk's own published vote, and the store holds ten publication days — a walk-forward over ten points would be a picture, not a measurement
  • gas-norm-path, crack321-level, dxy-z252, vrp-rv-cap — registered this week; their published probability is a conditional frequency over a trailing window, which is quadratic to walk and has not been run
  • the three-pass LLM ensemble — cannot be replayed at all: asking a model in 2026 what it thought in 2019 is a memory test with a hindsight advantage nothing can measure

Across 5 asset classes and 19 fundamental features tested at a 3-month horizon, 3 clear a 5% bar against a circular block bootstrap — against 1.0 expected by chance alone at that threshold. The strongest is momentum 6m on WTI crude, correlation -0.179 with an empirical p of 0.011 on 160 effective observations. After Benjamini-Hochberg control of the false-discovery rate across all 19 tests, 0 survive. The raw hits are consistent with chance once the number of tests is accounted for, and none should be treated as an established effect. The control is a block bootstrap rather than a random shuffle because these are time series, not cross-sections: shuffling destroys the autocorrelation of the target as well as its alignment with the feature, which makes the null far too tight and lets ordinary momentum look significant on data containing no signal. Overlapping forward windows are reported as an effective sample size rather than hidden inside a t-statistic.

Each desk's weekly move, attributed to the same week's moves in the other majors with SHAP — the statistical version of "bonds sold off with the dollar bid". Out of sample, cross-asset flows explain rates 12%, fx 14%, commodities 15%, crypto -4%. That spread is itself the finding: commodities is the most flow-driven desk and crypto the most idiosyncratic. Contemporaneous by construction — this describes what a move traded WITH, never what caused it and never what comes next.
Gradient-boosted model of the desk trunk's weekly change on the SAME week's changes in the other majors, SHAP-decomposed; beeswarm over ~15 years and a force plot of the latest week. Features exclude the trunk's own accounting identity (real + breakeven IS the 10y move; a model explaining it with itself would score perfectly and say nothing). R-squared is 5-fold cross-validated. Attribution is contemporaneous co-movement: it does not establish causation and predicts nothing.
